Tuesday, March 17, 2026 (10:00 AM - 11:00 PM) (CDT)
Description

Join The Center and the Illinois State’s Treasurer’s Office for this informative webinar about IL ABLE. IL ABLE savings and investment Accounts can be an excellent tool for disability service providers to help protect clients’ federal benefits, to help clients build savings for large expenditures, and for clients who are working to build assets from earnings.
Disability service providers that serve as their clients’ SSA rep payee, legal guardian, or as their agent under power of attorney, in some instances, may be able to open and manage IL ABLE Accounts for their clients’ benefit. Stephanie Kanter, Director of IL ABLE with the Illinois State’s Treasurer’s Office will cover essential IL ABLE information for entities, including:
- IL ABLE Account basics – Eligibility, saving and spending while protecting federal benefits,
- The role of entities to serve as Authorized Individuals, and
- The process for entities to open and manage IL ABLE Accounts as an Authorized Individual on behalf of the eligible individuals they serve.
